Heritage Manor - Colfax first opened as Octavia Manor in 1971. Octavia Manor was originally licensed as a 55-bed intermediate care facility. In 1981, five new rooms were added, along with a new dining room. Heritage Enterprises purchased Octavia Manor in July of 1995. In January 2000, Heritage Manor Colfax was approved as a skilled nursing facility and became Medicare certified in March 2000.

"As a smaller home, our community has a large investment in our facility," says Administrator Christine Banks. "We are the largest employer in Colfax, and we often know our residents before they come into our facility - they may have been our neighbor or our school teacher. We are truly like a family."

A special feature our residents benefit from is the companionship of Tess - a Black Lab/Great Dane mix - who is on-site daily. She strolls the facility, visiting with our residents and often looking for treats that the residents have won during Bingo games. Residents also benefit from the long-term, experienced caregivers at our facility. The caregivers and residents form extremely close relationships, strengthening our family environment.

Residents at our facility enjoy a number of community activities, including a monthly lunch at the Never Too Old (NTO) Club. We are also involved in Meals on Wheels for the community, and all food for this program and for our residents is homemade and prepared daily.
