Heritage Manor Gillespie was constructed in 1970. At the time, the skilled facility housed 98 residents. Additions in 1994 and 1998 increased residency to 118. In 2003, the entire facility became Medicare Certified.

Its special features are another reason why Heritage Manor Gillespie is highly regarded. Their Physical Therapy Department provides evaluations and treatment of most diagnoses and conditions. Their hands-on therapy is provided under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The Gillespie facility is also dedicated to providing outstanding Hospice Care for those with limited life expectancies. Through hospice, the family and resident are directly involved in making decisions. Family can often care for their loved one in a setting that best suits their needs.
