Steve Wannemacher, President & Chief Executive Officer
Steve Wannemacher  

Steve Wannemacher is the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Heritage Enterprises, Inc. Steve is a licensed nursing home administrator and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Illinois State University.

Steve joined Heritage Enterprises in 1992 and assumed responsibility for managing facilities and purchasing, marketing, government and public relations, management information systems and risk management. Prior to working for Heritage, he was employed by Champion Federal for 16 years as the senior officer in charge of marketing, advertising, facilities management, human resources and branch operations. Steve currently serves as Treasurer of the Illinois Health Care Association and is Co-Chair of the Health Care Council of Illinois. He is a former member of the Illinois Health Care Association Assisted Living Task Force, served on the Regulatory Reform Task Force and was a member of the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Quality of Life Advisory Committee for the State of Illinois.

Steve is a director of Busey Bank. Active in the community, he is a trustee of Illinois Wesleyan University and a senior member of the  Kiwanis Club. Among many other activities, Steve's past community service includes commissioner/vice-chairman of the Bloomington/Normal Airport Authority, president and director (now emeritus) of the McLean County Historical Society, commissioner of the McLean County Regional Planning Commission, transportation chairman of the McLean County 21st Century Committee and fund raising for the United Way of McLean County.


Cheryl Lowney, Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer
Cheryl Lowney  

Cheryl Lowney is Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, and Director for Heritage Enterprises, Inc. She has 40 years of experience in the health care field and began her career with Heritage in 1969. Cheryl has held various positions throughout the years, including staff nurse, director of nursing, administrator, and Executive Vice President of Nursing before becoming Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. She is a licensed nursing home administrator and registered nurse. Her nursing degree is from Galesburg Cottage Hospital School of Nursing. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of St. Francis and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois.

Cheryl is the immediate past president of the Illinois Health Care Association (IHCA), as well as a member of various IHCA committees. She serves on the Illinois Health and Social Services Subcouncil, the Provena Senior Services Board of Directors and Quality Assurance Committee, and on two committees for the American Health Care Association: the Facilities Standards Committee & By-Laws Committee and the Regional Multi-facility Committee. Locally, Cheryl sits on the McLean County Health Task Force.


Craig Ater, Executive Vice President, Finance

Craig Ater, CPA, is the Executive Vice President of Finance for Heritage Enterprises, Inc. Craig has been with Heritage since 1991 and is responsible for all accounting, budgeting, reimbursement, financial reporting, and information technology. In addition, he is involved with merger/acquisition analysis and financing and bank relations. Prior to joining the Heritage team, he worked for Frost and Company in Little Rock, Arkansas as an audit manager where he was responsible for clients in health care, financial institutions and agri-business. He also worked for Peat Marwick in Peoria, Illinois. Craig earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Millikin University.

Craig is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants. He previously served as President and Treasurer of the Center for Human Services.


Connie Hoselton, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Connie Hoselton  

Connie Hoselton is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Heritage Enterprises, Inc. She has been with the company since 1988. Connie is responsible for the human resource and payroll functions, managing the areas of personnel, training, compliance, education, compensation and benefit programs, recruiting and retention, HIPAA, and workers compensation.

Connie is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Illinois State University. She also holds the designation of SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Connie is a member of the Illinois Health Care Association. In addition, she is past-president of the Bloomington-Normal Human Resource Council and an advisory board member for the Illinois State University College of Business. She is a member of the AAIM Employer's Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and a board member of the Baby Fold in Normal. Connie was previously president and a member of the McLean County Center for Human Services.


Benjamin Hart, Senior Vice President, Corporate Services
Benjamin Hart  

Benjamin Hart is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Services for Heritage Enterprises. He has worked in the health care industry for over 15 years, all of which have been with Heritage. Ben is responsible for new development, capital budgeting & acquisition, facilities & grounds, purchasing, information technology, marketing, and housekeeping & laundry services.

Ben is a licensed nursing home administrator and was responsible for the overall operations of Heritage Health in Bloomington for several years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Business Administration from Illinois State University.

Ben serves on the board of directors for the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition. He is a member of the Illinois Health Care Association, an advisory board member of the Illinois State University College of Business, and a member of the Economic Development Council advisory board. He is also a member of Rotary International.
